November was a busy month for producer TERRY GREENBERG having just produced two exciting events for NYWIFT. At A Conversation With Lee Grant, film critic Jeffrey Lyons interviewed the trailblazing 88 year old Actress, Director Producer at the Tribeca Screening Room, to a packed house.  Then for the second year she co-produced NYWIFT’s Women In Comedy panel-with sister Zip Creative NYWIFT alum Susan B. Ades. The hilarious and informative panel Women Aren’t Funny: Debunking the Mythwas held at Caroline’s On Broadway in conjunction with the New York Comedy Festival.

Writer ROBERT MOULTHROP has been asked back to the Pearl S. Buck International Writing Center to give another writing workshop in March.  He is currently writing for the magazine Lovers & Other Strangers.  His story Friends in Need won the new Helen Magazine’s first short story contest. And his story Smoke was accepted for publication in Prairie Wolfe magazine. His debut collection of short stories To Tell You the Truth just received another great review in GoodReads. Director SHARI BERMAN is currently editing her latest feature – Sugar! – which stars Alice Ripley and Bob Clohessy. She recently completed a teaser for the film that you can watch here: https://vimeo.com/112810633  Once post is completed, Shari will be moving on to begin a collaborative web series with other indie filmmakers in NYC and will continue work on her dance film – Finding the Light.

Playwright NADINE BERNARD, together with producer Ivy Austin, held a reading in October of her Victorian Valentine’s Day play, Miss Valentine – about the popularization of Valentine’s Day in America.  The play is appropriate for regional theaters, colleges, community theaters and any organization that wants to hold a Valentine’s event.   She will be attending the Association for Jewish Theater Conference in Washington DC this month in support of her play The Way to Summer about Jewish anti-Apartheid activist, Helen Suzman. Writer ROBIN HOFFMAN is hard at work on her YA novel Call of The Weird about a friendless 14-year-old girl with OCD, over active sweat glands and self-involved family who encounters the angry spirit of former boy bander in her bedroom closet. Filmmaker KERSTIN KARLHUBER is in post production on her first feature Fair Haven which is currently being scored by a composer in LA and the film’s music supervisor is reaching out to artists for tracks to include in the soundtrack. The film, about a young man returning home to his Vermont town after conversion therapy stars Tom Wopat, Gregory Harrison, Michael Grant and Jennifer Taylor. It is on track for an early 2015 release. Writer and journalist ERIN ROLL recently broke a controversial story that was picked up in the national news about how local New Jersey school districts are cutting midterms and finals out of its schedule because of the time demands from new standardized testing. She is currently completing her M.A. in English Literature and her award wining paper on Nathaniel Hawthorne and Herman Melville is soon to be published. Another current project is about memory and trauma in the novels of Ursula K.
